Year Old National Champion Catclaw Tree
"History
of the tree"
The
Cat's Claw tree was declared the
National Champion Catclaw Tree by the American Forests
Historical Tree organization. It was one of the oldest
trees at the Alamo, being 100 years old. The Alamo Cat's
Claw tree fell during a rainstorm on May 15, 2005 at
9:09 pm. The tree was located on the southeast corner
of the Shrine.
